Daniel Cheung joined Maxwell Alves in April 2008 and is a Trainee Solicitor. He has a 2:1 MA Hons degree from Edinburgh University. After graduating from the College of Law with a Distinction, he worked in the Commercial Litigation department at Howes Percival LLP as a paralegal. Daniel has represented clients as a Free Representation Unit representative in their employment claims and was the clients’ advocate in tribunal hearings. He has dealt with claims involving sex discrimination, redundancy, bonus payments, unpaid wages, unfair and wrongful dismissals. Daniel has also advocated for clients in the Asylum and Immigration Tribunals in relation to immigration matters and bail hearings. In 2005, Daniel wrote and published an article on the steps to take for bank customers who had incurred penalty charges. He has previously worked at King and Wood and Lee and Li, two of the largest law firms in China. In 2006, Daniel was selected as part of a team to conduct legal research for the government of the Republic of China in matters relating to UK, EU and Chinese law. Daniel speaks English and Mandarin.
